According to Evan Lanell Wae, the Chairman of Ganjar Muda Indonesia (GMI), who organized the event, participants were selected since October 3, 2023. Today, the final match took place at Lot 28 in Kota Semarang, with 32 teams participating.
“We have a mix of amateurs and professionals, all of whom require a platform. We also wanted to use this opportunity to help people get to know Mr. Ganjar Pranowo better. He is currently among the top 32 players,” stated Evan Lanell Wae, the General Manager of GMI.
This MLBB e-sports tournament is the second one organized by GMI, with the previous one held in Jakarta. Realizing the growing trend of e-sports, GMI saw the potential for nurturing talented e-sports players.
“Our hope is for this industry to grow and become a platform for Indonesian e-sports athletes to thrive,” expressed Evan.
The tournament offers a total prize pool of IDR 20 million for the winners, runners-up, and those who secure the 3rd place.
According to Evan, “There are approximately 170 million people who have developed an interest in playing e-sports across various platforms. Considering these numbers, GMI is dedicated to fostering the talents of young individuals in this field.”
