Where area seniors meet to socialize, learn, and enjoy lunch!

Everyone in the Eastport area, 60 and over (spouses any age), is invited to the Eastport Senior Center, 9 Boynton Street, daily from 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM. Drop in anytime for social time, games, puzzles, and special activities. Call Persis at 853-2364 at least 24-hours in advance to arrange for a delicious lunch, served at noon. Suggested donation for lunch is $3.00. Food stamps may be used. Monthly menus are available at the Center or at www.eaaa.org/menu.shtml. Bus transportation to the Center can also be arranged. Call Washington Hancock Community Agency toll free at: 1-877-374-8396. Even though most of the Seniors are from Eastport, there are regulars from Cooper, Marion, Dennysville, and Perry. Visitors from everywhere are always welcome. Come join the fun!

Volunteers deliver noontime meals each day to those unable to get to the Center. This can be for a short term such as while recovering from hospitalization or for longer terms. Frozen meals are also provided. To arrange for home delivery call Persis in Eastport (853-2364) or Gail Ward, toll free at Eastern Agency in Bangor: 1-800-462-9899.

In addition to lunch and social activities, Penny Cross of Charlotte, a representative of the Eastern Agency on Aging, frequently visits to discuss more serious issues such as health care, housing, legal matters, etc. Penny usually visits on the third Wednesday of each month. She can be reached at home in Charlotte at 207-454-0712 or by e-mail: crosspr@hotmail.com. Arrangements can also be made for Penny to visit your home. An explanation of her services can be found at www.eaaa.org.

Inez Mills provides her nursing expertise at the FREE monthly blood pressure clinic. This is usually held on the third Wednesday of the month from 10:30 am - noon. The donations accepted from participants in this service are added to the Senior Center general fund.
