Korpri 52nd Anniversary Esports Tournament Secures MURI Record
Jakarta – The Korpri National Management Board recently organized an Esports tournament for ASN (State Civil Apparatus) across Indonesia. The event was held under the supervision of the National Cyber and Crypto Agency. The opening ceremony took place via Zoom and was officiated by Corps Chief Zudan Arif Fakrulloh. It was attended by various prominent figures such as Noor Sidharta, the Chairman of HUT Corps; Nisbah Ridho Sani, the Chairman of Sukan Riang; and representatives from BSSN (National Cyber and Crypto Agency).
During his report, Dr. Ir. Noor Sidharta, MH, MBA, the chairman of the 52nd Anniversary of Korpri, expressed his pride in achieving the MURI record. He stated, “I am proud to have achieved this record, in addition to the Blood Donation Corps, which also received the MURI record in the ‘105’ category for being the organization with the most ministries/institutions participating. The data is still growing as the registration is open until November 21, 2023.”
Sidharta further mentioned that this remarkable esports achievement involved 683 Mobile Legend teams comprising 4,754 individuals, as well as 83 PUPGM teams consisting of 498 individuals. Thus, a total of 5,252 participants from all ASN across Indonesia took part in the tournament, which began on November 4 and concluded on November 19, 2023.
Sidharta emphasized that all competitions took place on weekends and outside of working hours to ensure that KORPRI maintains professional ASNs who do not compromise their work commitments for the sake of sports activities, maintaining a balanced life for ASN members throughout Indonesia.
In his speech, BSSN Deputy Sulistyo expressed his gratitude to all parties involved, including the support from DP Korpri Negara, the managing committee of ministries and institutions, the DPKN secretariat, and all the participants. He said, “Let’s make this grand esports event a success, upholding the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie.”
Osmar Susilo, the Director of MURI, congratulated DP Korpri Negara for breaking the record for the highest number of participants in an ASN/most esports event, with 5,252 participants. He said, “Congratulations to DP Korpri Negara for achieving this MURI record. Good luck and happiness to all involved.”
During his speech, Zudan Arif Fakrulloh stated, “Esports has been officially recognized and included in the Indonesian national sports system. We have successfully organized this event twice now, first in West Sulawesi and now with DP Korpri Nasional. The tournaments are scheduled on weekends and outside of working hours for ASN participants.”
Zudan also stressed the importance of maintaining friendship among ASN members. He said, “Our job is to support, get to know each other, and strengthen the bonds within the Corps. Through digital matches, we can overcome limitations of space and time. If any issues arise, we should find solutions together as a family.
