In conjunction with the 28th Anniversary, SMK N 1 Kalasan held a Blood Donation Social Service

Sleman, Public Info – SMK N 1 Kalasan recently celebrated its 28th anniversary by organizing a Blood Donation Social Service in collaboration with Sleman District PMI. The event took place on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at the school hall.

Mawardi, the Chairman of the SMK 1 Anniversary Committee, stated that the main objective of the blood donation social service activity was to instill a sense of social and humanitarian responsibility among the students. By engaging in blood donation, the students will develop empathy and a caring attitude towards others in the future.

“In the future, we hope that the students will voluntarily become active blood donors as they understand the benefits of donating blood,” said Mawardi.

A team of six members from PMI Sleman UDD facilitated the blood donation process. Out of 28 registered candidates, 22 successfully donated blood. The candidates who could not donate blood mainly faced issues such as taking certain medications, low hemoglobin levels, tiredness, and inability to maintain their blood pressure.

Apart from students, the blood donation participants also included educators, workers, retired school principals, and teachers.

Regarding the series of events planned to commemorate the anniversary of SMK N 1 Kalasan, Mawardi mentioned that the theme for 2023 is “Beside Rumaketing Paseduluran”.

In addition to the Blood Donation Social Service, the planned series of events include Talent Search School, Mobile Legend E-Sports, Cultural Carnival, Tumpeng Decoration, and various activities exclusively for the students. There will also be sports competitions for teachers and employees, Market Day, Art Performances, and Lavora Artists.
