They have rental equipment that you can use to more fully explore the area. Rent a mountain bike to use exploring Eastport or to take on the New Brunswick ferry. A single or tandem kayak or canoe will allow exploration into many otherwise inaccessible areas.
You could make reservations for an hour or several hours in their 18' inflatable skiff, Sea Flea, designing a custom tour for yourself and your small group. The crew will ensure that you explore whatever and wherever you wish. Specialized or combination tours for whale watching, fishing, bird watching, lighthouse viewing, and/or sightseeing are easily arranged by making a reservation.
Local registered guides can join you on a kayak or hiking tour to ensure that you see and learn as much as possible. This is a good idea, especially if you are new to the area. After a guided tour, you would feel more confident to go off on your own.

Many locations in Eastport have free copies of a map detailing the Eastport/Lubec Quoddy Loop vicinity. Carry one with you. This map details roads and ferry routes connecting the entire area. You'll enjoy each of these day trips more fully if you have a camera and binoculars always at hand. At every turn you have the opportunity for a moose to appear, an eagle to soar overhead, or some other breathtaking sight to awaken your senses. Many days you'll want a sweater or sweatshirt within easy reach. Bring along water and food so you'll have the freedom to explore in every direction.
